In honor of Yom Ha Atzmaut, we would like to ask each of our standwithus members to bring in two NEW standwithus members. Tell them to sign on at www.standwithus.com today. Be happy. Its Israel's birthday. 1. The one-sided UN, again. Important action. 1. The one-sided UN: UN backs Palestinian violence - Arab, European nations pass resolution supporting use of 'armed struggle' Steven Edwards National Post They were voting as members of the UN Human Rights Commission on a resolution that accuses Israel of a long list of human rights violations, but makes no mention of suicide bombings of Israeli civilians. Friends: where is the condemnation of the homicide bombing massacres? Let them know that we view them as one-sided. Even if you think it wont help. Write a short letter. Even only one paragraph. But write. We achieve nothing by remaining quiet. If you would like to receive ongoing alerts re. the UN, EU or the International Red Cross (who has still not accepted Magen David Adom as a full member, even though terrorists and weapons have been found on the Palestinian Red Crescent ambulances) please hit reply and ask to be added to any of those lists for letter writing and information. Thank you to standwithus member: Yardena for regularly writing to the UN and the EU. She is a role model with regard to her ongoing activism. Send copies of your letters to the LA Times, and the New York Times. The German government announced yesterday that it would no longer supply Israel with parts for its Merkavah tank, in protest of Israel's war against terrorism in PLO-controlled areas After the boycotting (and burning and looting) of Jewish-owned businesses in Germany during World War 2, it is outrageous that the current German government sees fit to start a new boycott/embargo against Israel: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=21824 The German government announced yesterday that it would no longer supply Israel with parts for its Merkavah tank, in protest of Israel's war against terrorism in PLO-controlled areas. In response, Israel's Dan Bus Company announced that it was canceling an $18 million order for 100 German-produced MAN buses. Company officials have begun preparing for the opening of negotiations with firms in other countries. "When we heard that the Germans were considering placing an embargo on spare parts for the Merkavah tank," the Dan spokesman said today, "our chairman Yoel Sharabi decided that we simply could not stand passively by. There are other bus manufacturers in the world... If Germany sticks to its decision, we will apparently look for other bus manufacturers." What you can do: German Embassy 2.
