The following letter may be used by administrators of schools and camps to implement the support for Israeli soldiers. You can download it here or cut and paste the following text into your word processor. You will need the instructions that appear after the letter.

Dear Parents,

Our community is going to show support to Israeli soldiers. We will be doing this immediately, in the following way:

All of our children will be making cards and letters expressing their love and support to the Israeli soldiers. We will be sending those letters directly to the IDF office in Tel Aviv.

We would like to ask you to please, immediately, send to school a check of
any amount, made out to:

Friends of the IDF, and place it in an envelope
Attention: Administration.

We will be forwarding the checks to New York, and the money that we collect will immediately be utilized to purchase boxes with treats and drinks for the men and women who are currently fighting our war in Israel. Keep in mind that every $20.00 will purchase a box for 10 soldiers. Lets see how many boxes our community can purchase, and we will let everyone know, when we finish this action, what we were able to do together: in other words, we will tell you exactly how many soldiers will receive packages because of our efforts.

Thank you for your immediate support of this project that will enable us to accomplish two goals:

• To allow our community to feel empowered in some small way during this crisis    in Israel.
• To allow as many Israeli soldiers as possible to feel support from us    immediately.

We can stand together.

Instructions to Administrators:

The addresses that your administration will need, in order to follow through are as follows:

Your school will send a box or two of supportive cards and letters for Israeli soldiers to:

Suggestion: Keep a box in the office that teachers will know is ready for the letters. When the box is full, (hopefully in the next 2 to 3 business days) mail it to Israel.

Keep a file in your office for all the checks made out to the Friends of IDF. Send the checks to New York by the end of next week, and be sure to tell them that the checks are from your school. (Include your schools name and address, and one contact person).

Please send this action to other administrators (from other schools) that you are in touch with, so that we can multiply our efforts.
