Our nonprofit needs a part-time shipping clerk to join our staff. We need a highly organized and efficient shipping clerk to assist in the shipping and receiving components of our operation. We have educational events that have many components to be shipped to multiple places in a short period of time.
The clerk will handle both ordering supplies and shipping. When necessary, he or she will also cross-train and participate in other aspects of the business regarding operations.
Shipping Clerk responsibilities
Prepare and print shipping labels
Assemble and fill boxes for shipping
Affix proper postage
Track inventory and report any shortages to sales team so we can update the website
Process orders based on shipping needs (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.)
Contact carrier and schedule shipping
Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed
Shipping Clerk skills
High school diploma/GED preferred
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics
Capable of working a consistent schedule starting at 8 AM
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
We are looking for a shipping clerk to assist our current shipping staff. We are also looking for someone ongoing for 15 to 20 hours per week. The rate is $15 to $17 per hour depending on experience.
