Explore

Explore is a brand-new programme for Sixth Formers to be offered to schools and youth organisations. During the programme, students will explore the rich history, culture, and diversity of Israel through a series of fun and interactive workshops. Whether it be the rise of the modern Zionist Movement or the legacy of Israeli Eurovision, there is something for everyone to explore and discover about the Jewish State.

Get to know Explore

StandWithUs was established in the United States in 2001 during the Second Intifada and since then the organisation has been working to educate about Israel and the fight against antisemitism on 5 continents in 8 different languages ​​– in secondary schools, universities, social networks, around the world and here in Israel!

Explore was launched in 2022 as a course for Sixth Formers that can be delivered in a number of sessions tailor-made for your school, Synagogue youth or youth movement!

​

In Explore, pupils will discover the essentials of Israel: what makes this country so unique? What are the ingredients to creating such a success story and who were the key players in making it happen? Participants will also discover the roots of the conflict with the Arabs and Palestinians and learn about the attempts made to negotiate a peaceful solution. As well as this, Sixth Formers will learn valuable information as they prepare to enter higher education or enter the working world after completing A-Levels.

Explore can be delivered over a few weeks or several months, depending on your needs. You can also select which topics you wish to cover with your pupils.

Programme Objectives:

​

  • To inspire older school pupils to explore the many different layers of Israeli history, society.

  • To educate pupils to prepare for life after school, and to be aware of the possible issues surrounding this topic and how it could affect them.

  • Fun! Exploring Israel should always be enjoyable, whether it be on a tour or from a classroom!

Explore the deep historical links between the Jewish people and the origins of Zionism over 2,000 years ago

  • The Path to Independence

In 60-90 minutes, discover the rebirth of the State of Israel, its conflicts and the attempts to come to a peaceful resolution

  • Countering Antisemitism

Discover the evolution of the hatred of Jews since the Roman era, and try to understand what is legitimate criticism of Israel and when it crosses the line into antisemitism

  • Meet the Neighbours: Understanding the Middle East

A whistle-stop tour of the countries surrounding Israel, some of their histories, kingdoms, revolutions and the current landscape allows a hope for peace in the Middle East

  • Diversity and Society

What do you think of when you hear ‘Israel’: War? Religion? Falafel? Discover the incredibly beautiful and diverse peoples that make up the Israeli population: Arab and Druze, Muslim and Jew; and learn about how they have influenced Israeli culture

  • Democracy Above All 

Israelis love elections! Try to uncover the craziness of Israeli politics, its key figures and parties, and discover why democracy is so vital to the citizens of Israel.
