The StandWithUs Saidoff Legal Department empowers students and community members through a legal response to antisemitism and anti-Israel activity.
We analyze antisemitic and anti-Israel incidents, work with you to determine the appropriate response, and bring all StandWithUs resources to bear. We work daily with StandWithUs educators, regional staff, student fellows, community members, and partner organizations to respond to potentially actionable matters.
Legal Analysis – We review and analyze university policies, student government documents, and federal, state, and local laws to help enforce the rules when they are threatened or infringed.
Legal Empowerment – We educate students and community members about their rights as pro-Israel activists. Areas of growing focus include:
University endowment issues
A criminal justice initiative to combat antisemitic hate crimes
Filing complaints alleging violations of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
Educational Resources – For more information about our work and to view our booklets and news items, please click here.
Legal Workshops and CLE Courses – We offer numerous workshops to educate students, community members and lawyers about available legal tools and strategies to counter antisemitism and anti-Israel extremism. Visit our Continuing Legal Education (CLE) website. Contact us to bring a workshop or CLE course to your community.
Legal Monitoring and Disruption Prevention – We work with you to prevent disruptions of pro-Israel or Jewish events and to pursue justice against disruptors. We are also available to provide legal advice at your event and alert you to any potential legal issues as they unfold.
