ACTION ALERT!  WHY WAS ISRAEL NOT INCLUDED?

Please read this article (CLICK HERE) about the new counterterrorism forum that does not include Israel, and follow the instructions in this action alert. Thank you in advance for supporting Israel.

ACTION ALERT

CALL/WRITE THE WHITE HOUSE, STATE DEPARTMENT, AND YOUR REPRESENTATIVES

ISRAEL, THE WORLD'S COUNTERTERRORISM EXPERT, SHOULD BE A FULL PARTICIPANT IN THE NEW GLOBAL COUNTERTERRORISM FORUM.

STOP DISCRIMINATION AGAINST ISRAEL.

Israel has been excluded from the new Global Counterterrorism Forum. The Forum, initiated by the U.S. and Turkey last year, was co-founded by 29 nations and the EU. Among U.S. allies Israel alone was not invited to be a co-founder or a participant. At the Forum's first meeting on June 7 in Istanbul, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton discussed the need for coordinated efforts to fight terrorism and terrorist ideology, but she never mentioned Israel, though it is on the front lines of terrorist attacks, nor Hamas or Hezbollah, the terrorist groups directly targeting Israel.

This exclusion of Israel is shameful. When questioned, U.S. State Department spokespeople claimed they are trying to 'involve' Israel. Senators Joseph Lieberman and Mark Kirk protested to Secretary Clinton, pointing out that "there are few countries in the world that have suffered more from terrorism than Israel, and that have more experience combating this threat." Some experts speculate that the U.S. allowed Israel to be excluded in deference to Turkey's increasing hostility to Israel.

Urge the U.S. government to stop this discrimination against Israel, one of its closest allies and staunchest partners in the fight against global terrorism.

SAMPLE LETTER/TALKING POINTS

I urge you to include Israel in the new Global Counterterrorism Forum. Israel is one of our closest allies and staunchest partners in the fight against global terrorism. Few countries in the world have suffered more from terrorism or have more experience combating this threat. Excluding Israel is an unacceptable act of discrimination.
