StandWithUs Celebrates

Israel at 71

in Westchester

On May 5, StandWithUs Tri-State High School Department Coordinator Maria Ntourlia and StandWithUs Tri-State Managing Director Sean Glieberman attended the Jewish Community Center of Mid-Westchester’s Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel Independence Day celebration. This day of Israel pride and education brought together community members of all ages. Many enjoyed the StandWithUs interactive “Why I love Israel” booth. Each participant wrote about why they love Israel and added their piece it to a board, creating a colorful display of the many reasons why Israel is so beloved.

The event was headlined by Israeli and former IDF singer Ariella Edvy and the MusicTalks ensemble. Closing the event was Congressman Eliot Engel, who was recently named chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee. In his address, Representative Engel reiterated the strong bond between the United States and Israel. We had the privilege of honoring the congressman at last year’s StandWithUs Leaders of Tomorrow Gala Dinner in New York City. StandWithUs was proud to stand with Congressman Engel and the Westchester community in celebrating Israel at 71.
