Airbnb Succumbed To Pressure
Reversed it's discriminatory policy on de-listing Jewish properties in West Bank
We applaud the individuals who spoke out against this policy, including the 8,000 people who wrote emails of opposition via the StandWithUs Action Center, and the plaintiffs who filed lawsuits challenging the legality of the policy.
We congratulate the states that went on record stating that application of the policy would disqualify Airbnb from eligibility for state contracts. We are grateful to the Jewish organizations who stood tall against this hypocrisy, including Shurat HaDin, the Israel Action Network, the Israeli American Council, the American Jewish Committee and NGO Monitor.
The cumulative pressure ultimately resulted in the company agreeing to reverse course, continuing to list Israeli-owned properties in the West Bank. Airbnb also issued a public statement unequivocally denouncing the Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions (BDS) movement, which had previously championed Airbnb's West Bank policy as a major victory. Instead, this outcome demonstrates that companies wishing to engage in discriminatory boycotts against Israel will be the ones most harmed by that decision.
