(Jerusalem, Israel -- August 9, 2020) -- Israel's response to the horrific explosion in Lebanon is exemplified by widespread solidarity and mobilization to provide humanitarian aid to the Lebanese people. This has included a show of support by Tel Aviv's city hall and offers by Israeli hospitals to treat victims.
Those who shamefully celebrated this tragedy on social media or elsewhere represent a small extremist fringe of Israeli society. Unfortunately, such extremist opinions exist in all societies and it is on all of us to drown out these bad ideas with good ones.
