“Corporate Antisemitism” Campaign Will Use Paid Media Including Billboards, Direct Mail, and Print and Digital Advertising to Amplify Message Campaign Will Target Unilever-Owned Consumer Brands Across Industries, Such as Dove, Lipton, and Axe. StandWithUs Has Launched a New Website with Educational Materials and a Toolkit to Empower Grassroots Mobilization (Los Angeles, CA - November 10th, 2021) -- StandWithUs has launched a new public education campaign dedicated to exposing corporations that are complicit in discrimination and hatred against the Jewish people. The initial focus will be educating businesses and consumers about Unilever, a multinational corporation which owns Ben & Jerry's and is complicit in its discriminatory boycott targeting Israelis. In the face of ample evidence that Unilever's actions empower extremists who oppose Israel's existence, and despite multiple requests to reverse course, the company has refused to do so. "Corporations hold immense power to shape public opinion and cultural norms, and it is crucial to hold them accountable when they promote or enable antisemitism," said Roz Rothstein, CEO of StandWithUs. "This campaign against corporate antisemitism will begin with Unilever and ensure their consumer brands across industries bear a reputational and financial cost for its discriminatory actions.” In addition to grassroots mobilization, the campaign will include high-visibility billboards, direct mail, and digital advertising -- in order to build awareness of Unilever’s role enabling antisemitism. As part of the effort, StandWithUs has rolled out a new website featuring educational information about corporate antisemitism, along with tools to empower grassroots resistance to its spread. Alongside a video explainer of how Unilever is enabling antisemitism and additional information about the company, the website provides multiple ways for advocates to engage with businesses that carry Unilever brands. In addition to Unilever, the site exposes the corporate sponsors of a non-profit called Slow Factory, which has repeatedly promoted antisemitic rhetoric and double standards. Additional corporations will be added as needed. The campaign sends a strong signal across the corporate world that promoting or enabling antisemitism -- as defined by the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism -- carries legal, financial, and reputational risk for the companies involved, and will not be tolerated.
StandWithUs will continue to fight all forms of antisemitism as they manifest today, including from major corporations that promote or enable such hatred and discrimination.
