StandWithUs UK welcomes the decision by the University to terminate the employment of Professor David Miller. For too long, Professor Miller's antisemitic rhetoric and conspiracy theories have left Jewish students feeling targeted, harassed, and unsafe on campus.
We commend the tireless work of the Jewish students at the University of Bristol, the Bristol University Jewish Society and allies among the wider campus community who stood up together to ensure that Bristol University is a safe space for Jewish students.
Despite this action being long overdue, Bristol University has sent a message that hate speech on campus will not be tolerated. His dismissal should hold and this must be a clear red line to others in positions of power who discriminate against Jews.
StandWithUs UK will continue to support students to combat antisemitism and to help foster a more tolerant atmosphere on campus where there is zero tolerance for anti-Jewish hatred.
