Swipe Up Rise Up 2025

28 March 2025

StandWithUs UK hosted a successful inter-school event on Thursday 27th March. Returning for its third year, Swipe Up Rise Up brought together Sixth Form pupils from multiple schools including JCoSS, Yavneh College, Immanuel College, and JFS.

The event tackles antisemitism and anti-Israel hatred on social media and empowers the pupils to unite together against this in a positive manner. Swipe Up Rise Up has seen over 400 attendees in its three years, with past key speakers including Rachel Riley, Konstantin Kisin, and Emily Schrader.

Pupils enjoyed an expo with communal organisations including UJS, the Jewish Agency, Aish UK, Masa and others, sharing their work and opportunities with the attendees.

The pupils then had a selection of workshops run by outstanding social media influencers: British comedian Zach Margolin, British-Israeli activist Hadassa Goldberg, long-time social media activist, The Modern Maccabee, and Jewish chef Ben Rebuck. Each of the speakers shared their experiences and tips to support the pupils in the fight against this hatred, as well as coping mechanisms.

Yehuda Fink, Director of Education at StandWithUs UK, says that Swipe Up Rise Up is a call to everyone that the Jewish youth of the UK are not afraid to stand up to antisemitism. That you are not afraid to call hatred out wherever you may see it, and you are proud of your Jewish and Zionist identity.”

Swipe Up Rise Up continues to be a highlight of the calendar for Jewish youth in the UK, and it will return next year!

About StandWithUs UK:

StandWithUs is an international, non-profit and non-partisan Israel education organisation that works to inspire and educate people of all ages about Israel, as well as challenge misinformation and fight against antisemitism. Founded in 2010, StandWithUs UK has become a recognised support system and leading resource for students on UK campuses. We empower and energise students and communities with leadership training and educational programmes on both school and university campuses. StandWithUs informs through social media, printed materials, digital platforms, film and newsletters. The StandWithUs flagship Emerson Fellowship programme seeks to raise students into future leaders, equipped to stand strong in the face of antisemitism and anti-Zionism. We believe in the right of the Jewish People to self-determination in their historic homeland of Israel. We educate the facts in an unbiased and holistic manner, with an open mind, reflecting on views from all sides of the political, social and humanitarian spectrum whilst promoting peace. StandWithUs UK believe the current discourse surrounding Israel on campus all too often crosses the line between legitimate criticism of Israel’s policies and the dangerous, mainstream, antisemitic rhetoric which stands contrary to the IHRA definition of antisemitism. We work to educate on that distinction, encourage civil discourse on legitimate criticism of Israel, and to fight antisemitism wherever it emerges.
