Ilan, from Kibbutz Be’eri in southern Israel, was the deputy commander of the Kibbutz’s security team, that bravely defended their community from the terrorists who had infiltrated Be’eri. That morning he was brutally murdered while on his way to open the Kibbutz’s armory and then kidnapped into Gaza.
His wife, Shiri, and one of their daughters, Noga, were also kidnapped that day. They were released in November 2023.
Forensic evidence connected to another hostage whose name has not yet been cleared for publication were also recovered and the identification process is underway.
